A Lesson About Perceived Failure

This week I want to write about transforming what we view as failed experiences into valuable fodder for our future success.
Naturally, it is never pleasant to experience failure, but that does not make it a bad thing. As hard as it may seem to believe,
there are benefits to experiencing failure. Personal coaches and top psychologists both agree that we can learn valuable lessons
from these experiences that can benefit us in the end.

It seems everyday your friends are telling you of such situations, of percevied failure, this mostly stems from a lack of
self-confidence or self-esteem or from legitimately having tried something and having failed at it your first time. This can create
a sense of failure and one can head down the wrong path temporarily while recovering from such perceived failure.

I always suggest to my friends that they look at their life situations from different angles, by finding opportunities and learning
lessons when things don’t come out as planned. One example that comes to mind is a friend who I’ll call Susan.

Susan’s hope was to become a fantasy novelist, but that dream was compromised when every agent and publishing house she contacted
rejected her first novel. When I first met Susan, she was in a frustrated and dejected place and wanted to know what I thought of her
novel and her aspirations from a friend point of view. I found her book to be very well written and quite interesting. My advice to her was
to keep trying and to also explore other ways to utilize her writing talents.

Susan decided she needed to take a break from focusing on her novel, so she put it away and began volunteering at a local children’s hospital.
She became a storyteller and made up all kinds of fantastic adventures to entertain the kids in the children’s ward. I am happy to report that
she was well received as a storyteller and was soon writing her stories down to share at other local hospitals.

I bet you can guess the rest, Susan became a very fulfilled and successful children’s author and is now very happy that she “failed” at
writing fantasy novels. Her story is proof that not only can failed experiences encourage us to be more flexible and determined, but that they
can also point us in the perfect direction.

I hope Susan’s story will remain with you so that the next time you feel yourself struggling with the idea of “failure,” you will think
differently about it. When you open yourself up to the gifts the universe brings, you can find amazing opportunities.

Please give this message some thought Give yourself a pat on the back for moving along the path to success and keep on moving until you get it right.

Why Blog?

Well……….blogging has become one of the most popular traffic generators since the advent of the world wide web! The main reason being that by adding daily content you become more user friendly to the big search engines like Google.
Blogging, has become increasingly easier to do as well, there are many new sites dedicated to free blogging online.
Examples: wordpress.com (being used right here) blogger.com can be found through the Google Homepage, and a simple search on Google will reveal many more such sites, where one can go and set up a FREE BLOG.
However, if you are really going to take advantage of this phenomenon, you may want to host your own blog, this can also be done through wordpress. The wordpress .com is a free solution and the .org is a site that you can download all of the software, to set up your own blog, but this requires your own hosting service as well.
You can start in the Free Mode and then transfer all of your files to the self hosted mode at a later date if you choose.
Ultimately you have more control of your self hosted Blog, but the FREE one’s work just fine too!
Now the REAL POINT OF THIS, is to gain Traffic and Sales to your home business. Do not worry about this so much at the beginning, but rather just begin to write about what you are passionate about.
This will attract other people with similar interests and lead to more traffic and hopefully MORE SALES!

What’s a Healthy Portion Size?

Description

A portion
is the amount of food a person eats. When you are given a larger
portion of food you are likely to eat more. These larger portions can
make you gain weight. The portions you eat in a restaurant or at home
are often larger than what you need to feel full. Eating smaller
portions of food can help you control your weight.

What does a serving from Canada’s Food Guide look like?

A Food Guide Serving is a measured amount of food
according to Canada’s Food Guide. You don’t need to weigh or measure
foods to know the serving size. This handout will help you figure out
how many servings are in the portion of food on your plate. The table
below shows common items that are the same portion as food serving
sizes from Canada’s Food Guide.

Item

Quantity Represented

Foods Represented One

Food Guide Serving
* some exceptions

Baseball, light bulb or fist 1 cup (250 mL) cold cereal Grain Products
salad Vegetables and Fruit
fruit, 1 medium Vegetables and Fruit

Tennis ball 3/4 cup (175 mL) hot cereal Grain Products
yogurt Milk and Alternatives
beans or lentils Meat and Alternatives
Computer mouse 1/2 cup (125 mL) vegetables, cooked Vegetables and Fruit
tomato sauce Vegetables and Fruit
potato, 1 medium Vegetables and Fruit
pasta and rice Grain Products
Deck of cards or palm of hand 2 1/2 oz (75 g) meat, chicken or fish Meat and Alternatives
Hockey puck* - bagel, mini 2 Grain Products
bun: hamburger or hotdog 2 Grain Products
potato chips, mini bag, 30 g High Sugar, Fat & Salt Food
Dice or thumb tip 1 tsp (5 mL) butter High Sugar, Fat & Salt Food
sugar cube High Sugar, Fat & Salt Food
Two 9 volt batteries or two thumb tips 1 1/2 oz (50 g) cheese Milk and Alternatives

Portions of Food on a Healthy Plate

Imagine your plate divided into three sections like the picture
below. At least half (1/2) of your plate should be vegetables and
fruit. The other half of your plate can be split into quarters. One
quarter (1/4) for grains or potato, and one quarter (1/4) for meat and
alternatives. This is what a healthy plate looks like.

Food Plate

Choose a medium sized plate (about the size of a Frisbee) to help
you keep your portions healthy. If you have a large plate, fill only
the middle of the plate. Don’t fill a larger plate right to the edge
with food.

Choose the right portion size for your body size and activity level.

Tips to Help You Eat Smaller Portions

  • Eat within the first 2 hours of waking up.
  • Eat at least 3 balanced meals a day.
  • At meals eat more vegetables and fruit than other foods.
  • If meals are more than 5 hours apart have a snack. Make it a fruit or vegetable.
  • Use smaller bowls, plates and glasses.
  • Don’t eat food like ice cream and chips out of the container or
bag. Put a smaller portion on a plate or in a bowl and put the bag away.
  • Serve yourself in the kitchen. Put leftovers away before you eat.
Large bowls of food on the table makes it easy to eat more food.
  • Try not to eat in front of the TV.
  • Stop eating when you no longer feel hungry. You don’t have to “clean your plate”. Your body can tell you when you are full.
  • Wait 20 minutes before you take a second helping.

Health Benefits of Eating Hemp Hearts!

Hemp Hearts™ – raw shelled hemp seed is one of nature’s perfect foods – a Super Food. This is one of the most potent foods available, supporting optimal health and well being, for life. Raw hemp provides a broad spectrum of health benefits, including: weight loss, increased and sustained energy, rapid recovery from disease or injury, lowered cholesterol and blood pressure, reduced inflammation, improvement in circulation and immune system as well as natural blood sugar control.

Results will vary by individual, but reports from thousands of our customers over the years, who take the minimum recommended dosage of 4 – 5 tablespoons per day, reveal that their experiences are consistent with clinical studies that relate to these issues. Many health care professionals are using Hemp Hearts™ to achieve great results with their clients. They attribute their success to the superior balance of proteins, essential fats, vitamins and enzymes in Hemp Hearts™ and to the relative absence of sugar, starches and saturated fats.

Heart Health and Lowered Blood Pressure: Premature health failure may first appear as high blood pressure – a sign that the heart is over worked, required to force blood through too many miles of sluggish blood vessels. Clinical studies indicate that hemp products reduce inflammation and improve circulation, factors of primary importance in the cure and prevention of many diseases. A large percentage of our elderly customers have selected Hemp Hearts™ in desperation because of failing health. Within three months they report significant improvements in cholesterol and blood pressure.

Improved Digestion: Our customers report efficient digestive systems without sluggishness, able to derive much more benefit from much less food. Because Hemp Hearts™ are so easily digested, our customers claim that Hemp Hearts™ have cured or reduced the effects of chronic problems of the digestive system. There are no known allergies to Hemp Hearts™ and they are of special benefit to those who are unable to eat gluten, lactose, sugar, fish, nuts, meat and other common foods. Combined with high fibre grains, fruits and vegetables in the diet, expect regular bowel movements synchronized with the frequency of meals – a sign of a naturally health bowel.

Losing Weight Naturally: By taking Hemp Hearts™ as directed, expect to be hunger free until mid-afternoon. Expect reduced cravings for foods with stimulants, sugars, starches and saturated fats. You can safely opt for food choices that are fruit, salads and vegetables knowing that with Hemp Hearts™ you have already consumed all of the essential fats, proteins and most vitamins and other nutrients necessary for promoting good health. With less hunger you will less frequently desire starches and carbohydrates. Customers report losing up to one pound a day.

Increased Energy: Many customers notice increased, long-lasting energy. One elderly lady reported that after her first use of Hemp Hearts™ she cleaned her entire house – her first experience of abundant energy in 20 years. Another elderly lady, who previously found little to value in life, remarked that because of Hemp Hearts™ she now often feels like dancing. Many comment that they are more productive, much more energetic and less affected by stress. Those who eat Hemp Hearts™ every morning, unless they are obese, always experience sufficient energy that they have no need to “pep up” with sweet foods, soft drinks or stimulants.

Healthy Cholesterol Levels: Premature health failure appear as high cholesterol – a sign that veins and arteries have lost their elasticity as a result of an imperfect diet. Hemp Hearts™ are not only cholesterol free, but contain the optimum ratio of the polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, Omega 3 and 6 – hemp oil contains 57% linoleic (LA) and 19% linolenic (LNA) acids. When added to the diet, in a whole, natural and a cold processed food, like Hemp Hearts™, improves cholesterol profiles. Hemp oil also contains some GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) that is absent from the fats we normally eat, but considered to be beneficial to health by nutritional experts.

A Natural Way to Control Blood Sugars: Premature health failure may also appear as Type II diabetes – a sign that relevant organs are no longer capable of processing the sweet and starchy foods that are too often consumed. The first steps in naturally balancing blood sugars is to introduce a high quality lean protein in your diet – the glucagon released when you eat protein helps keep insulin in check, then incorporate essential fatty acids, both found in Hemp Hearts™. By avoiding refined carbohydrates – sugars and starches, in favour of high fibre vegetable and whole grain foods, our customers naturally control their blood sugar levels. Diabetics especially, report that circulation improves, often to the extent that they no longer fear losing their feet.

Get Your pH Balanced!

PH balance, is the balance of acid and alkaline, in all fluids and cells in the body. Body pH Balance is critical to maintaining wellness and preventing illness. , if body pH balance is not in equilibrium it will create an environment where disease can thrive. Yet few medical practitioners in Western medicine are even aware of how it plays a major role in causing almost all disease.
The foundation of healthy pH balance is in drinking plenty of alkaline water. Seaweed is a great supplement for restoring your pH balance as it contains a mixture of red, brown and green marine algae.

If you suspect your Ph balance is out of order, and most of the Western world falls in that category, it is important to consider a change in lifestyle and nutrition.

Realizing the importance of pH balance to good health and an overall disease free body is the first step to good health. You will know when your pH balance is corrected as you will have more energy and vitality.
It is easy to check your pH balance with a saliva litmus test. You can get the tester at your local pharmacy. The human body’s ideal pH balance is around 7.

Medicine does not cure; it simply treats symptoms. In the case of cancer, it will attempt to kill malignant cells. Proper nutrition, on the other hand, may not only keep you from those dreaded diseases but fortify cells that are out of pH balance.

The concept of pH balance may be novel to you and somewhat confusing, but it is actually fairly simple. By becoming aware of acidic and akaline foods that you eat it should be relatively easy to maintain a healhty pH balance.

In conclusion, since pH balance is maintained through the proper nutrition the body needs, it is most crucial to consider taking the steps you can to help avoid cancer and disease. pH balance is indeed foundational to experiencing a higher quality of health, and thus a higher quality of life.
